Who shall receive the blessing?
Psalm 24:4-5-He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
24:4 He - Whose actions and conversation are holy and unblameable. Pure heart - Careful to approve itself to God, as well as to men; ordering a man's very thoughts and affections according to God's word. Vanity - Who doth not value or desire the vain things of this life, such as honours, riches, pleasures; but makes God his portion
24:5 The blessing - Grace and glory, and all other good things.
Righteousness- the rewards which God bestows on His people, or the grace to secure those rewards as well as the result.
On this earth we thank God for all the blessings that are bestowed upon us here. There is always a prerequisite for true blessings.
We should also strive to live our lives here pleasing to God and when that is done we are also assured of great eternal blessings.
Are your hands clean? (free from defilement) Is your heart pure? (filled with the things of God and free from hypocrisy) Is your soul free from vanity? (those things that are empty, mind free from wanting all things that the world has to offer). Sworn deceitfully? (embracing falsehood, a lie)
If your hands are clean, your heart pure, your soul free from vanity, and you have not sworn deceitfully then you can be sure that you will receive the blessing.
*Repentance is still the order for the day.
